QC Ripening Utility

The QC Ripening Utility Associate assists with ripening responsibilities for in-house and 3rd party ripening programs. Also, supports other functions such as product movement, quality checks, and selection of orders specifically for quality.

Schedule: During training Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. After training the schedule will move to Sunday - Thursday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Location: Ephrata, PA (onsite)

What you get to do as a QC Ripening Utility

• Work closely with Buying team and Logistics Services team to accurately ripen the designated amount of product required on a regular basis
• Effectively and efficiently operate ripening rooms and related equipment used in the ripening process
• Work closely with all other areas of Quality Control to assist in departmental goals and functions, including continuous improvement and change management efforts
• Work with Facilities to help maintain ripening rooms and equipment on a consistent basis
• Operate hi-lift or pallet jack to improve department efficiencies involving product movements and order selection, while closely monitoring product quality to help prevent customer rejections
• Operate equipment safely, follow safe work practices, maintain a safe work area, and adhere to food safety policies

What you bring

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalency
• General knowledge of produce ripening processes, specifically with bananas, tomatoes and avocados preferred
• Must be able to distinguish colors for grading produce and have keen attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and make sound decisions
• Ability to efficiently work independently
