Packing Line Lead

As a Packing Line Lead you will provide oversight and direction to a team of associates to achieve desired operating results in daily Packing jobs.

Shift:

  • 1st shift, 5:45am - 4:30pm
  • Four, 10-hour shifts per week
  • Rotating schedule requires working two Saturdays every three weeks
  • Sundays not required unless overtime is needed

What you get to do as a Packing Line Lead

  • Oversee a team of associates packing or reworking product, allocating manpower to tasks appropriately, checking finished product for proper quality and labeling
  • Ensure associates and/or team achieve work standards for time, quality, appearance and labeling
  • Complete appropriate paperwork on jobs performed, accurately recording all product information, time worked, performance and supplies used. Utilize RF Smart and task product in Priya.
  • Ensure all associates are following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), assuring food safety / proper organic compliance on all jobs
  • Ensure work is being done safely and associates are following safe work practices
  • Coach and instruct associates on product quality, packing procedures and techniques, proper labeling, safety, food safety, etc. to increase associates' capabilities
  • Identify opportunities for improvement using continuous improvement procedures, tools and techniques
  • Work with buyers, QC, sales, sister companies and Packing Managers to understand requirements and communicate issues / solutions to meet customers' expectations
  • Set a consistent example for others in leadership style, communication, and integrity

What you bring

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Ideally, 3 years' experience in the produce industry
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of perishable food products and food safety requirements
  • Computer Skills
  • Proficient interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Adequate verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate responsibility and make sound decisions
  • Bi-lingual (English-Spanish) communication skills preferred but not required
