Carrier Sales Specialist

The Carrier Sales Specialist will primarily be responsible for securing and managing optimal transportation solutions for our customers, while balancing both cost and service. This includes general carrier communication, track and trace, rate negotiation, carrier vetting/booking and transactional quoting. The chosen candidate will have a unique opportunity to be a part of a growing team with an excellent reputation within the industry. Teamwork, creativity, and the determination and drive to find the best solution for our customers is the focus of the department.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am-6:00pm.

Location: Ephrata, PA (onsite)

What you get to do as a Carrier Sales Specialist

  • Develop new and grow existing carrier relationships.
  • Procure carrier transportation services, with heavy focus on both cost and carrier vetting.
  • Ensure shipment details are accurately communicated and captured in our TMS.
  • Support sales teams with rate quotes, as well as terms and conditions
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to customers both internal and external.
  • Utilize track and trace technology to drive real time tracking.
  • Monitor shipments including pick-ups, deliveries, and freight in transit.
  • Leverage general technology to enhance service to the customer and to strengthen the capability of Sunrise Logistics

What you bring

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalency required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • 2 Years of active freight brokerage experience preferred.
  • A detail oriented, self-started with a desire for growth and excellent customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience within the transportation industry preferred.
  • Proven experience in effective planning and problem solving.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and have high attention-to-detail.
  • Procedural mindset with ability to prioritize and efficiently manage high e-mail volume.
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of management.
  • Ability to perform, collaborate, and effectively work with others in a team-based environment.
  • Adequate interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Tech-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software, primarily modern TMS (preferred).
